Stressful week

I think my post ablation three and half months heart has taken a bit of a bashing this week.....we set off from the alps in the car to come to U.K. fir a loved ones funeral....that’s been upsetting in itself......got to Calais ferry and were refused entry as the dogs rabies injection wasn’t valid till next week....the vet did it last week and never told us she’d done a fresh one instead of booster cos we were two weeks late .....so a fresh one is 21 days wait,.....so as my dog is 19 we couldn’t kennel her and so after 800 miles we had to drive another 800 miles home...it’s been surreal, ....

.arrived back in alps yesterday and this morning up at five we drive to Geneva to fly to Luton.....leaving dog at home......now in a hotel in Bedford with feet up........very tired....good pulse....

I felt very disappointed in the airport as I just dint seem to have any get up and go in me, all the walking fromplane ,passport control, baggage etc.... I’ve noticed before this weeks bizarre trip that I just seem to be in third gear when I’m walking and don’t seem to have the energy I had before the ablation......I am still on the full tablets in fact they upped the bisoprolol after the op for a set period .....

Has anyone else fekt like this......? It’s almost as if I’m one of those cars with a restricted on speed....I am so aware if my heart and not upsetting it perhaps I’m reading into it.....always waiting fir it to go wrong.....

Well I’m in hotel now, funeral Tuesday and flying home Wednesday, can’t wakt to get home...I was so looking forward to being here in our car and going shopping! But in reality I don’t feel I’ve the energy to go around shops....

Bless you sorry things aren't going so well. What a journey you have had and the stress of a funeral too. I hope things settle somewhat and after some decent sleep things seem better.

Take care and don't push yourself. Best wishes.

Sue I do think this is normal. It's a few years now but I do think it took me six or eight months to start to feel normal after my last ablation which is why we say three to six months and sometimes up to a year in our fact sheet on recovery.

Take it easy and be glad your are still in NSR . That MUST be a good sign!

Sorry you are under such stress right now but you do sound positive which is great.

Hope all goes well and you are home free again soon.

Thanks so much for replying bob , reassurance is worth aton of gold.

Feeling still bodily tired but my pulse is ok. I guess I hear in here other folk are up and at it, walking a fair distance etc......so early after ablation, ....I’m way behind that.....I seem to be totally normal In my everyday bubble ,I feel normal, but when I push it as in yesterday walking in two airports then supermarket I hit that marathon runners wall.....

I’m three and half months now...so thanks for reassuring me bob,

Sue

What a horrible time that journey must have been for you, but try your best to put it behind you now and move forward if you can. Things could have been a lot worse, car accident - loss of life! Count your blessings and see that although frustrating to the extreme, this was not as bad an event as it could have been.

Just having a Polyanna moment for you (loved that film).

Your feeling of weariness is probably the result of the stress you're under right now with the loss of a loved one and waiting for the funeral.

Hope you soon feel more energetic.

Big hug.

Awe thanks so much Jean, and sending that Pollyanna moment......ohyes my favorite film as a child......I sooooooo wanted to be Pollyanna......I always liked Hayley mills films after that.....

Yes I think the stress hasn’t helped, being turned around at Calais after driving all that way was a surreal moment.....yes lots to be greatful for my sister in law that died was three days from retirement.....

Thanks jean,

I think the tremendous stress you were under caused your body to try to slow you down as i expect your blood pressure spiralled. I reckon once you get home and have a few days rest you will feel better. However after my second ablation I asked for my bisoprolol to be reduced to 2.5 as I was feeling very slow and turgid. So when you get home if things after a couple of days still seem the same go and see your gp or ring your af nurse to see if you could reduce your bisoprolol a little.
