Forever i would get a shock from the first metal object i touched after getting out of a car, or sometimes just randomly opening a door or whatever. However, since i had an ablation in november it has only happened twice! Anyone else notice this???

I have never had an ablation but I sometimes get shocks, I think most people do!
That’s interesting. I suppose it could be something to do with the change in your body’s electrical activity. You need someone scientific to come along!

This is static electricity which builds up in the body naturally. Years ago when we wore nylon shirts (or dresses Flapjack) this was a really bad problem but more natural fibres tend not to creat so much static. People vary and some generate far more than others. My mother for example could never wear a watch as she stopped anything clockwork with her magnetism.
In the bad old days of Brinylon sheets one could creat a grand old light display in bed.
I get electric shocks off of car doors, if someone touches me when on artificial grass and the worst is in the M&S store in Bluewater.
M&S has a lot to answer for! I used to get a lot of shocks when visiting the Milton Keynes store. Now I’m on the South coast & the one in Eastbourne is much more sedate 🤣
People probably know this already, but in case someone doesn't there is an easy way to deal with the problem. It's caused by static in the body jumping to anything that earths it - the cure is to hold a metal object like a key in your hand and use this to touch whatever gives you a shock. That way the spark (which is what you feel) is between the key and the object you touch not between you and the object.
