AF medication

Hi

I wonder if anyone else has experienced any of the following.

I was prescribed apixaban and Bisoprolol after a mini stroke diagnosis last year. I couldn’t get along with Bisoprolol and so was swapped for Adizem. However, over the last couple of months I’ve developed a sort of loose chest cough and have trouble clearing my throat which usually ends up with me coughing and sneezing and sometimes there are tiny clots of blood either in my mouth or get blown out my nose.

I know I should see the dr but I’m nervous about where they send me off to next! I wonder if it is just a harmless side effect of the medication and if so which tablet is the culprit.

Anyone else experience of these drugs?

I get tiny nose bleeds when I sneeze but my g.p. thinks it's the Apixaban and she's not worried unless I get a heavier nose bleeds. It's difficult to sort out side effects isn't it?

Please see you GP as soon as convenient. It is likely nothing serious but needs to be checked out.

Agree with the others- any bleeding needs a check- even if there's a likely culprit!!

As per others, if you are coughing up blood, definitely see a doc! If it was an obvious nose bleed that would be one thing, but you say that it is associated with a chest cough so you really need to check it out.

Not what you're looking for?
