Sorry to hear this. If pulse rate is high you might want to go to Aand E. I don’t take Flec but others who do will advise Play soothing music and rest

Hello Cadgie, pleased to hear that you are feeling a bit better now. I have just read some of your previous posts and wondered if you would be happy to answer a few questions that will help us to help you. You say you are prescribed Bisoprolol and Flecainide. Do you take Flecainide as a daily maintenance dose and if so, how much and have you been prescribed it as a Pill in the Pocket (PiP). If you are experiencing different symptoms than previously, then you should see your GP with a view to having your treatment plan reviewed. We are not medically trained therefore unable to advise on medication but you should ask your doctor if your maintenance dose should be reviewed. In the past prior to my ablation I took a minimum daily dose of Flecainide which kept AF and palpitations at bay but as I understand it, for some people over time, it effectiveness can reduce hence reviewing dose or using an alternative.

It may also help you to watch Dr Sanjay Gupta’s video on palpitations via YouTube. Hope the improvement continues........

50 is OK. Mine went down to 32 whilst sleeping and although the medics said it was too low, they just stopped the bisoprolol for a couple of weeks and started back on 1.25. Better now. I was told in hospital when I was taken in a few times with my heart rate over 240-250 that if it is over 110-120 for an extended period I should go to A & E. At least that is what I was advised to do, others might have been told differently. Hope you feel better soon.

Something has irritated your condition (alcohol and caffeine are 2 of the prime suspects - Note this can happen days after taking them), what you must do now is rectify this by drinking a ltr of mineral water through the course of the day for at least 7 days, no spicy foods, take plenty of rest, try breathing slowly through your diaphram making sure your tummy expands when you breath in and deflates when you breath out, no lifting anything heavy and sleep for at least 7 hours overnight. During this time see your Doc as your condition may have changed and you may have to increase or reduce your medication and perhaps even change it.

I have been on flecainide now for 4yrs. It has helped me tremendously. 100 mg 12 hours apart. Haven't had any afib since. Also take metoprolol. Hope it works for you.

I was in hospital when put on it. They say you have to be watched to see how you tolerate the med. Good luck
