Why the difference?

It seems that METOPROLOL is in short supply in my area at the moment so my GP prescribed BISOPROLOL 2.5 to be taken once daily. My daily dose of METOPROLOL is 100 mg twice daily. Why the difference in amount?

Because it is a different drug. All drugs have specific dosage.
