Exercise induced AF is what I’m told I have. Happens during long cycles or runs. Had ablation end of January heart raced 5 days after and has been ok until yesterday which is 6 weeks after. Up at 132 just sitting. So after reading posts here it looks like it can take longer than the month the cardiologist said. Fingers crossed it will work.

I wish these people would get in the real world. Our fact sheet i#on recovery says three to six months but some people are still improving at nine months or longer. Don't over do things.

Mind you 135 is awfully close to 140 which is typical atrial tachycardia, a common side effect of ablation so why not see your GP and get an ECG done to check what is what? You may need a cardioversion.

Was this triggered by exercise?

You may need to scale it back

Yes it happened cycling up a mountain. Went from 150 up to 240bpm

Surgeon said it should be ok after ablation

Maybe they need to have an ablation and find out. Our fact sheets were written by patients for patients as we seem to be the only ones who understand. Several doctors actually admitted learning things from them.

Just reading the fact sheet now thanks. Would have been helpful to have read this before or just after procedure

Returning to exercise has also been on my mind. All the reading I did here and elsewhere said to take it slow, and this just reaffirms it. I actually gave up cycling once AF was confirmed, not as it brought on an episode, but because I was worried it would. Now I just swim 3 times a week, but I like to push myself. I think I'll wait another month or so before starting back, and take it very slowly.

Hi I was told to take it easy for 2 weeks then be okay to exercise again so I gave it 3 weeks. started with a few light runs and now back on bike. Did 14 mile hilly route then week off before 40 miles (nothing flat in Scotland) then 50 miles week off then a 24 mile on sat followed by 45 sunday. AF on monday for 4 hours! So i think I've done too much.

Also we were out on Friday night and Sat night which used to cause AF too.

Yeah, definitely sounds like you may have overdone it! Fingers crossed it's temporary and works long-term.
