As a Kardia user I was very interested to read the article in today's Times.

Following tests at University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian it was revealed thst the device is 5 times more effective at detecting heart rhythm problems than standard tests.

At a cost of £99 it cuts the cost of diagnosis per patient by more than £900 and the time to diagnosis by more than 3 weeks.

There was a report last year that the NHS were to invest in Kardia's for issue to patients as a monitor device, but that seems to have 'gone quiet.'

This time last year, our local TV news did an article on this and through our local arrythmia group, I was lucky enough to be involved. I must check to see if it ever happened in this area.

My GP's surgery bought one. THey have never used it.

I showed my GP some of my readings and he was impressed, but I doubt that they will use it.

I see that the Telegraph reported similarly yesterday and the article appears to be much the same....i've just Googled it

This is the study on which the article was based. The cost savings seemed to me to be on the conservative side.

I read that too. It is amazing how many heart medics haven't heard of a Kardia!
