Walk in the park.

Well it's been a month since they inserted the implant, the procedure itself was a walk in the park, a bit messy because of the Rivoroxaban but to be expected. I have to protect it because if it's bumped it's painful, but otherwise it's not a problem. I've had a few 'turns' since insertion but nothing major, I'm told they can track my heart for three years!! (I hope it doesn't take that long to sort out) everything is wifi'd, the computer downloads all the information every night and analyses it, picks up any anomalies and reports it to my electrophysiologist. If I have a 'turn' all I have to do is press a hand held scanner and hold it over the implant and it sends the info immediately to the computer. I have an appointment at the end of need month so hopefully by then something will have shown up!! I know I've said it before but I'm so grateful to have been born in a day and age where something can be done about this condition

We are lucky yes with technology.Only wish GPs,and some Cardiologists,were better informed! Hope it helps you xxxx

I have a the Medtronic LINQ, you? Yep three years! I have a marker button I carry with me and can do a manual download to send full report. The auto reports are more of a summary for them. It shouldn't be painful or stick out to where you would bump it at all? Curious about that. Mine is right next to the chest bone on the left way under the skin and doesnt stick out. Anyway, it will give you a sense of comfort to know that you can catch problems. it's nice to have and takes away some of the anxiety of this heart stuff! Good luck and have a great weekend.

Medtronic, that's the one. I also have a marker button to press and hold over the implant when I get an episode, brilliant for technophobes!!

Mine is in the same general area as yours but my anatomy is somewhat different, I have extra 'equipment ' to consider which pulls on the skin around the implant. It's small children and dogs I have to be careful to protect the area from. They've accidentally knocked it a couple of times which has been quite painful and bruises very badly
