Not directly Chaddy, but it does seem a long time, especially if it is affecting your ability to work. Others may know more from personal experience but if I were you I would ring to make sure you haven’t fallen through the cracks! Good luck......

We have a forum poster on here called Hidden who I'm sure will be able to advise you. I've given him a nudge and hopefully when he's home from his driving he will reply.

All my medical records are with the DVLA it's them that are holding things up thanx for reply

Hi Chaddy,

Yeah, I hold a PCV licence and was diagnosed in January 2010. I had my PCV revoked but had it reinstated early March 2010. My GP had to provide quite a full statement of my condition. I have retained it uninterrupted ever since. Because of my age, and not because of my AF, I have to have annual medicals. This length of time you are experiencing is totally and completely unacceptable. My suggestion is firstly go into the DVLA website and then go into Medical Services. Then go to Atrial fibrillation and it will give you some information. This will be handy background knowledge.

When you were put off the road you should have had a letter. On it should be a phone number - ring it and ask them why your licence had not been reinstated. Don't take any bulls..t just keep on trying to pin them down. Personally I suspect that your matter has fallen into a sinkhole. This maybe the fault of DVLA or it maybe that they have asked your GP or Consultant for more information and they have not provided it. Of the two the latter is more likely.

If all else fails write to your MP and make a fomal complaint against DVLA. Then it will be dealt with ..trust me. I had to do this last year with our local hospital trust and boy, did I get a result.

Hope this helps, any questions get back in touch.

John
