Hi Sue, how did it go, did you come out in leggings lol. I had slight headaches which calmed down . Does your consultant say it was a success, I do hope so. Ursula x
Hi Ursula, think it was good he said it was a simple ablation of the four pulmonary veins.....not that it makes much sense to me, but he emphasized it was simple.....he’s upped the bisoprolol and I’m not sure why and if that’s givung me this horrid headache or it’s just part of after the ablation.......I came home in my leggings.....once they took the huge pressure wad off my artery and took stitch out there was just a tiny plaster. Didn’t sleep at all as I was uncomfortable, but they were all very kates Nd there to me. Had my own room and bathroom, all curtesy of the French health service.....
The drive home was very snowey all three hours.....
Now got to wait and see.....fingers crossed.
How you doing?
Hi, glad you are home safely. I feel fine, off all my meds except apixaban blood thinners. Seeing my consultant in 3 weeks. Can’t tell you how much better I feel....... can go out without that horrid anxiety that I am going to have a do. Had a lot of stress too in last two weeks because Colin is booked in to have his kidney out on Thursday, then he has to have another stent fitted so I have had a stern word with my body to behave itself lol.
Just had an email from my cousin in Austria with a beautiful photo of her garden thick with snow.
Now looking forward to 2019 being a better year , looking forward want to be able to go to Austria or at least go to our holiday lodge on the east coast of England. Look after yourself and keep in touch.

Yes Morzine it’s more than likely to be the migraine which is not always accompanied with flashing lights. Although not pleasant, they should gradually fade but drink lots of water and DO NOT take any NSAIDS such as ibuprofen........l bet you’re pleased it’s all over, just rest and don’t worry if you feel a few blips as mentioned in the factsheet......best wishes
Thanks, Yes flapjack I’m sooooooooooooooo pleased to be home!
Will drink lots of water...and resting.......
Sue
I am less than 2 weeks post ablation and having to visit my husband in hospital after he had a stroke just before my ablation so not easy to follow the rest, rest and more rest as much as I would have liked. I do get headaches and take paracetamol as I am sure it is all a normal part of the early healing process. I also listen to relaxing noises and music to try to take my mind away from everything.
I try to picture my damaged heart and try to treat it carefully by walking slowly and put my feet up as much as possible. No lifting and not too much bending for a while.
Good luck with your recovery and be patient as it takes time but I am sure it is worth it.
Some people have new migraines with or without aura after ablation, I have had both! Remember you are hypersensitive to everything right now and it takes a while to feel "normal" again. Here for you.
