Hi Sue, unless you have chest pain or dizziness, breathless then I think you should try and ride it out.

Try to relax with deep slow breathing to get to sleep. You may find yourself back to NSR in the morning.

You say you are feeling bad.....do you mean anxiety wise? If you have any real concerns you can always speak to someone on 111

Hopefully a blip - do you have an arrhythmia nurse contact ? at a low pulse rate I would try and sit it out but I have not had an ablation so may be different so I would get some advice.

Some blood pressure machines can't cope with AF so the reading may have been wrong? Otherwise if you still feel rubbish that may be the cause of the episode. Lots of nasties going around, I had one affecting my chest and my heart has not liked it, some really scary ectopics. Hopefully yours is a blip.

Hello Sue,

I’m not sure that you can rely on the blood pressure machine to give reliable heart rate readings during a fast AF attack. If you already have a smartphone, perhaps you should consider investing ~£100 in an AliveCor Kardia ecg monitor. They are cardiologist approved and allow you to see what’s going on with your heart eg. full blown fast AF or just ectopics at normal heart rate. I have no connection with AliveCor and use the Kardia for monitoring AF myself!

Hope you will soon be feeling much better.

Gluten is an allergy - as in coeliac disease. Wheat is much more complicated reaction . Some say it is because a much stronger strain of wheat has been developed by the food manufacturers to enable bread to be baked much more quickly. Unfortunately no one told the human body.

Others say that modern farming methods rip the goodness out of the soil and provide very little in nutrition and lots of strange chemicals and weedkiller/fertilisers. White bread in particular contains lots of sugar and preservatives.

If you have a look at Carneuny's posts on this site you may find them useful.
