I have been taking WARFRIN for 18 months to help with A.F. I have now been offered RIVAROXABAN. Just wondering how anyone else is finding this as an alternative.thank you.
Rivaroxaban: I have been taking WARFRIN... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Rivaroxaban
Warfarin and Rivaroxaban are both anticoagulants to help protect you from AF related stroke and do not affect your AF. What other drugs are you on?
I was prescribed Rivaroxaban for anticoagulation three years ago by the cardiologist shortly after being diagnosed with paroxysmal AF. I’ve had no problems at all with it and pleased I don’t have to worry about regular testing or about what I eat. I’m still on it despite a successful ablation almost two years (female, 65, and medicated for high blood pressure, giving me a Chadvasc score of 3) and happy to remain on it for life. I’ve seen family members suffering after strokes and will do everything I can to avoid it for myself. I hope that helps and it suits you as it has me. Val
I have been taking Rivaroxaban for at least 3 years now and not had any problems. Wasn't give it for AF but as anticoagulant to help avoid stroke due to CHADSVAC score. Taking Bisoprolol for my AF.
Thank you for reply.
I’ve been taking it for 4 years with no I’ll effects. Pradaxa (? Spelling ) was awful, made my gums bleed daily, I looked like a vampire
I have been on rivaroxaban for 18months now had a successful ablation in May, not had a problem with this anticoagulant
I've also been taking Rivaroxiban for 18 months, it's the one pill I don't mind taking as it's to reduce stroke risk and doesn't appear to have any side effects, on me at least.
Thank you.
I’ve been on Rivaroxaban for 18 months post ablation. Seems great and much simpler than Warfarin faffing. Only issue is accelerated hair loss - I’m 60 (male) and thinning on top anyway. So I’m ok but others might want to consider this side effect.
