I am six weeks out from my first ablation, and my heart rate goes up very rapidly with even a slight amount of exercise. Prior to my ablation, I would walk as hard as I could and my heart rate on hills would be around 115-120, now, with much less effort, hills can cause it to go to 160 or higher. It comes down as soon as I stop, but this is unacceptable to me long term. Did anyone else experience this? My EP had me wear a holter monitor for a day, but I don't have the results yet.

Heart rate goes up with light exercise
Six weeks is far too early to start worrying about such things. It takes three to six months for the heart to fully heal and many people find they are still imporoving up to nine months later. Raised heart rate is a common side effect of ablation and can take very long time to return to pre ablation levels. Be patient!
Hi Bob.You sure have a lot of knowledge about our crazy ❤️ ❤️ ‘s.You have a great way of telling people not to keep worrying about a lot of the symptoms post ablation.I see you respond to a lot of people and that is awesome. Thanks
Thanks for the encouragement. I am just worried that exercise will cause damage by raising the heart rate so much. I guess I should just stop checking the heart rate and go by how I feel during the exercise.
When you are doing your light exercise make sure you are not shallow breathing. I think as we grow older deep breathing when exercising, doesn't come naturally anymore.
