Pre ablation bisoprolol advice

Hi, I'm booked in for an ablation tomorrow (not currently in af) and was advised to stop taking my bisoprolol on Friday. Today I feel awful like I have the flu, aching head to toe, headaches, shaking and my heart rate is hovering around 100bpm. Anyone else have any experience with this? I've left a message with my nurse but I'm waiting for a call back and feeling really unwell.

So the question is

Is this Biso withdrawal or proper flu? If the latter, might be best to reschedule. How much Biso were you taking and for how long?

I suppose the timing here might suggest Biso withdrawal more likely though far from certain.

I'm certain it's not flu . Just wondering if stopping bisoprolol usually causes these symptoms.

No personal experience but I imagine the larger the dose and length of treatment, the greater the chance of symptoms from abrupt withdrawal

I didn’t have to stop my Bisoprolol or Flecainide prior to my ablation.

I had my ablation two weeks ago and was told to stay on all my meds including Nebivolol, Flecainide and Rivaroxaban. I was told the procedure was successful and then told to stay on all my meds until seen in clinic. My follow-up appointment has just arrived for 12 months time! It's funny how everyone is given different instructions for the same procedure.

I'm not in af so I think I had to stop so they can get my heart into arrhythmia easily. Still feeling awful but I'm at the hospital now waiting to go down. They've said my symptoms were quite normal though.

I too had my Cryo ablation today, had to stop the Bisoprolol 3 days before. Had no issues with doing that. Unfortunately I've had a complication due to them puncturing the right side of the atrium which has caused a bleed into the sac. Now have to stay in overnight before they will take the drain out

Hope you're doing better today GordonS, mine went well and I'm home now with no more bisoprolol to take. I've got some bruising and swelling on the groin so it's quite painful but other than that I feel fine.
