Good evening Rdie101..Google ( The effects of cafine on your body )

Personally l don't have a good relationship with coffee for the very same reason you mentioned in your post.

Hi there, great that you've taken the time to ask the question after such a short sign from your body. Caffeine is a known trigger of quite a few health problems, migraine and heart issues are probably the most common. I personally never touch the stuff and my regular headaches virtually disappeared overnight a couple of weeks after stopping. Based on your reaction to the coffee and how easy it is to avoid caffeine I would say it's a no brainer. Decaf tea and coffee are nice once you get used to them and you will be healthier too! It's your choice of course but I would definitely stop using any caffeine 👍 why take the risk of getting more problems.

As a sometime coffee drinker I found that sticking to the very mild Moccona 3 style or what used to be Red Mountain didn't in my case ever cause a problem but any of the strong types I avoid. I usually drink tea daily and never have more than one cup of coffee

I can only drink decaffeinated coffee too.

I'm a little wary of decaff. How has it been done? Sometimes chemicals are used. And how decaffeinated is decaff?

I think we may also need to consider what's in coffee itself, never mind the caffeine.

All decaffe had a very low level still

I believe red bush is actually free from caffeine as it doesn't actually come from a tea bush

Red Bush is naturally caffeine free. I tried it & it tastes a bit different to ordinary tea but I quite like it now & don't worry about it setting anything off

True, but it's disgusting 😁

Interestingly - fresh, good, organic coffee which isn’t instant nor stewed nor put through a cafeteria stops my arrythmias - must be taken with fat though to be digestible. Black coffee can irritate the digestive system of some people which will trigger arrythmias. I have found the health benefits of coffee very useful but it took me a long time to know how and what to do.

I find decaffeinated coffee the worst - unless it is naturally decaffeinated as the chemicals used to take out the caffeine are far more injurious to the human body than the affects from the coffee - but it took me 49 years to learn 😂

Everyone will find they have different triggers but I don’t think we should damn all coffee, just be very selective of what, how it’s made and how much.

Hello again, that said I was very very hippish in past life..

Coffee colonic irrigation was my idea of luxury together with body brushing and macrobiotic diet- typically 70's.

Appologies for jumping in...

Tim, I think the less caffeine you drink, the better. Some ways of reducing caffeine are better than others. I feel letting tea or coffee stew for a long time is bad, so a cup of well produced, freshly made decaff can be a long way from what I have serious suspicions about - a cup of chemically decaffeinated coffee (or tea) that's had plenty of time to stew and absorb who knows what. Beware of tea bags that have been bleached too.

I have to say that I refuse to let AF rule my life and deprive me of all pleasures and I drink a small pot of proper loose leaf tea with caffeine in the morning. I now pour out two cups at the same time rather than have one and then the other half.

I don't know what SVT is but if you have AF you shouldn't be drinking coffee! Surely your doctor told you that!

Hi , I have no problem with coffee

hi there, coffee is a definite trigger for me too so I carry a little jar of decaf in my bag and that way I can always have the decaf. Alcohol is another trigger for me wine especially however a southern comfort with caffine free coke doesn't set of an episode....hmm, strange eh?

Decaf actually nowadays tastes no different. I even drink decaf latte made in my Nespresso machine and they are very nice. Give it a whirl as it does sound like caffine is going to be one f your triggers too!

stay well,

Blue :-)
