An ongoing IT problem with this site

Hi there ……………. anybody.

This site is driving me crazy …. everytime I access a post and then click on SEE POST (which will give me the full text of the post) I have to sign in to either google, facebook or my registered email. EVERY TIME !!!

But hell …………. to get this far I have already signed into my account anyway.

It seems that HealthUnlocked alone have this weird thing - other sites do not. Other sites - once you have signed or logged in - promptly reveal the full text.

Any IT geeks out there have any thoughts …….. heavens, maybe even HealthUnlocked can answer my query.

I'm running WIN 10.

Hi John

I run windows 10 and don't have any problems at all. I just click on the email notification and it takes me straight to the post. Quite a few years ago I did have a problem and reported to HU. From what I can recall it was my provider EE that was the fault, but the HU team managed to correct it.

I would contact them. Have a feeling, and this could be wrong, that they had to contact EE.

Just another thought. My internet security is Avast, I had to stop my email notifications being opened by them into their web page and make sure it was Google. If they opened them, then I had exactly what your are describing.

This happens on my iPhone when I use Safari but not the App. Also happens on Desktop sometimes, but not others and never on my iPad, which I mostly use, but I click directly through from daily emails. Web browsers are inherently less safe now, certainly I’ve stopped using them for banking and stay with the apps which are reputedly safer and I suspect many of them are now just signing people out automatically - personally I quite like that signs me out.

Do you have an app which remembers your sign in details and will do it automatically?

OK, I'll try Chrome. I use Firefox - when I sign into my account no problem. When I open my inbox -no problem. A short two line post - no problem. A long post cuts the post out after about 3 or 4 lines and the prompt appears ...…. SEE POST ! When I click on that, every time, with every long post I've got no choice but to click on See Post - then I get the sign in again window - FOR EVERY POST. Apart from being annoying its a phenomenal time waster.

Anyway guys and gals - thanks for your comment, more playing around ahead of me I guess. I've been down the settings route by the way.

I am on another forum on a different website which has a similar/identical facility to deal with long posts - no problems ever. So I might have to look at how that is set up for clues.

Thanks again.

John

Try changing the browser - which do you use? Firefox is quite good. Chrome has an ability to pin a page so any site remains open - but it will sign you out after a certain amount of none use.

I don't have this problem....I can stay "logged in" even when i switch off. So I don't have to log in every time I turn on!

Could be your server.......???

I access HU on a tablet and keep the relevant tabs open, refresh when I come back.

Have you looked at Settings in your profile? There may be an option to Remember Me or Stay Logged In.

If you are using the App you could try reinstalling it.

Google or your Security programme can remember your passwords for you to make it quicker.

I hope one of those helps 🤓 (I have to confess I'm not a geek, just had a lot of experience rescuing my technophobe husband!)

How frustrating. Ive had no problems using app on my iPhone, stay logged in.

Hi Hoski, what you say is true - no problem on my Android smartphone or tablet.

Dont think its the site or W10 , most likely your browser is signing off with each tab.

As CDreamer said try another browser any Firefox clone will start with your saved passwords and bookmarks.

My solution to all IT problems....

Shout at it, swear at it, shake it, bash it, turn it off/turn it on......Switch it off, make tea and turn on telly. Wait for grandson, never fails.

I think I would be waiting a very long time as they only visit once a year. How nice it would be to have them near enough to drop in - but not too often!
