I am 7 weeks post ablation and get ectopic beats in late afternoon or early evening. The beats are usually 60-100 .I have only had a few very short episodes of A Fib.I did not have ectopic beats pre ablation.Does anyone find they have them post exercise like after golf or tennis?

Ectopic beats
If you search ectopics in the search box top right you will find SO much information there as most people suffer this way. Also go to AF Assocation website and look under patient information-- fact sheets where you will find one on recovery from ablation which you may find useful.
Hello Mary-miles,
I had the same one year ago and it's really scary with the heart thumping away and the feeling of a huge 'thump' in your chest every 30 seconds or so.....I was medically told ''you wont' get rid of that 'thump'''. So to cut the story short Mary I dieted losing half a stone in weight by cutting down on all foods and after twelve days my heart began to settle, then the Bisoprolol, kicked in properly, which I already had been taking. I've never had any problems with ectopic beats since.
The reason I dieted so quickly was, me being so ''terrified'' of the ectopic beats and I'm sure, I had read somewhere, that once the heart has less work to do it then corrects itself......
I have reduced my weight since by another half stone and feel absolutely fine.
Hi Mary-miles'
This is just to add the above. My normal heart beat was well over 100 but with the medication and now weighing less has settled at 53-54 beats a minute. My Blood Pressure is the same i.e. lower at 115 over 65 and its all because me now weighing less; and I've never been overweight. I believe as I said already, giving you heart less to do helps considerably, of course with the medication too.
Good luck, hope you do feel better soon..................
Yes all the time, very annoying
I had a lot of ectopic beats for several months post ablation and then with time, less and less and then none. It took me a good six months to completely heal after afib ablation. Give it time and hopefully you will see improvement. Talk to your EP about it if you are concerned. My EP was not concerned with mine.
