Does anyone add Spirulina to their diet? I have just been reading about it and note cautions for those on anticoagulants. The advice is always speak to your GP, but I have yet to find one that knows anything about or is interested in supplements and their interactions beyond, warfarin.

Might a pharmacist or a nutritionist be better placed to advise than a GP?
I’ve add Spirulina to diet for years and tKe anti-coagulants - in the small doses of dehydrated powder I doubt very much that you take enough to cause harm but then I take Apixaban and it is usually Wafarin which interacts with foods as it is VitK antagonist and therefor I would imagine, don’t know for certain, that it may have the potential to affect INR.
Nutritionist, Herbalist or a good Pharmacist would be able to give you specific information.
Thank you CD - I am on Apixaban too, but will check with pharmacist.
I find any of these green powders make my heart race.....even small doses. So I don't take them now. I was fearful that by making my heart race that they would trigger me into AFibb.
That’s interesting. I haven’t found that yet, but will be watchful.
