Sotalol and viagra?

Hi. I am 71 year old male. I have CHD and PAF. Three stents fitted. I’m on Sotalol 40 twice daily for the AF and ISMO and Ranalozine for Angina, all drugs work well to keep things in check, last AF was June this year. Hope I don’t cause embarrassment but Long term Sotalol has caused Erectile dysfunction and was wondering if any of you men out there in similar boat to me have tried Viagra or similar drug. Not seen my GP about it yet because I’m not confident that would be the best way to go, trust issues? Too opinionated, he would probably lay it off to a cardiologist anyway. I thought there must be lots of guys out there in same boat as me that might share your experiences. Thanks for any help.

No experience of taking both together, but a lot of the beta blockers/anti-arrhythmia drugs can cause loss of libido and/or erectile dysfunction.

As much as you worry about being judged, if it were me I'd go to the GP. He may not need cardiology input as I imagine it's a reasonably common problem, and he is likely to know or find out any adverse interactions between viagra and common medications such as heart medications.

You can't take Viagra with nitrates but with Ranalozine should be OK. But as Ranalozine is normally only prescribed for severe angina you do need your doctors advice.

I have AFib and take Bisoprolol which I think caused ED, doc given me 100mg Viagra which works a treat. The only way is up!

I’d think ED comes with being 71😳😳 You can buy the “active ingredient” for Viagra,starts with S, and it’s MUCH cheaper. A “friend of mine” says it works great.👌
