Following up on my post food and drink the other day I have concluded If you don't eat everything that's bad and also don't drink most things you probably starve and get very very thirsty

I know it's bad to eat two Magnum choc ices one right after the other. I'll never do it again - honest, this is the last time!!!!!

Why do I have to be such a pig and eat two though. I'm like a child who's never had anything. They were sooo lovely! I'll be moaning I've got a fat stomach - well no wonder!

And here's me thinking I'm the only one to participate in this glorious habit - I could eat Mint Magnums to a band playing - trust me, 'moderation and balance' are the furthest things from my mind whilst indulging!! 😜 Thankfully though, they don't appear to be a trigger for my afib, blessings come in many disguises!😊

in reply tojeanjeannie50

Because they're so small ones just not enough! X

No starting now, I'm in again. Just a little blip on a very hot day!

Lucky you Jean - I cannot tolerate even that amount of chocolate anymore - had one a few months ago and had a really bad night afterwards. I do have a couple of boxes in the freezer though - hubby is a chocoholic and often enjoys one. I make do with some lovely clotted cream ice cream and fruit, naughty I know, but have to indulge occasionally . I think my chocolate days are over - I will have to forgo all those lovely indulgent choccie puddings on the menue on the occasions that we go out for dinner lol

Keep cool Cassie

Really feel for you Cassie, what a life we have to live now! AF has so many knock on effects!

in reply tojeanjeannie50

No guilt. Sometimes we have to eat 'mental health' food , too. Like Snickers.

Vonnieruth, I do what you're saying leads to starvation. But I live and eat very well! No alcohol, soft drinks, coffee, tea (except herbal), no gluten, dairy, minimal sugar, virtually no takeaway food, very little red meat, not much meat at all, no smokes, no recreational drugs, etc. But I eat awesome yummy stuff... and I have a lot of love and joy in my life because when I take responsibility for my body and its health, my choices, my reactions, my emotions, etc, then lots of love and joy goes out of me and comes back often from unexpected quarters. If I had not been eating/drinking/living/loving this way for many years, I'm sure that with my genes I'd be an angry obese diabetic with blocked arteries, cancer, a miserable attitude, or possibly dead!

Didn't mean actual starvation I meant you feel starved Like I have also said in some situations people are not financially able to buy the better quality foods that our health would benefit from

in reply todiannetrussell

Wow that's amazing well done x

Yep, I know what you mean. Fortunately in our area we have great farmers markets where you can buy fresh, quality produce at great prices, and sometimes do swaps if you grow stuff in your own garden. The world is set up so badly - that all the junk that's bad for us is cheap!

Its bad really I myself get £83 per week to feed myself and husband while off work That's before I pay bills How is a person suppose to buy good quality food on that I know there are many in same position so am not feeling sorry for myself Govements need to live in the real world and not with money that belongs to the ones who need it

Your best bet is to get into the local markets just before they pack up to go - you will often get fresh veg and salad stuff at knock down prices. It will be hard but you must make enquiries about local food banks. Hopefully you will be able to improve the quality of your provisions

Hi Vonnieruth,

People have talked about a balanced diet. Well a balanced diet is 2 ice-creams, one in each hand. I eat all sorts of stuff, love chocolate, ice cream , biscuits and cake, I have no trouble with cholesterol but have af. My wife eats very healthy, little of all the bad stuff and she has had trouble with cholesterol, had to have a pacemaker, has af and has one of her arteries only working 10%. It may be in the genes and makeup, so I don't wear genes and don't wear makeup.

Flyer.

Hi Flyer2820. Make that 2 'likes' from me. And extra points for wit and humor. irina
