Hi there, from my experience and from reading posts on here it very much depends on the individual and how you react to the various triggers. The obvious one's from me would be: no alcohol, no caffeine, no over eating and as little adrenalin as possible. Keep well hydrated, plenty of sleep and take your meds on time, after all that it's a matter of what will be will be! I suppose a visit to the GP for advise might help too. Hope you have a nice jolly holiday 👍

Definitely ask your doctor about the meds Andy, I take 1 x 50mg of flecainide and 10mg of bisoprolol at 8am each day and then 1 x 50mg of flecainide about 6pm. It might say on your medication when to take them but if not ring the doctor and clarify. Take care mate 👍

It can depend on your individual issues: Please get advise by your physicians on what time you should take your medicine. You may have to wait and hour or two between certain medications. Some are better taken at night-some in AM. Seriously, when to take them is not one-size-fits-all. Pharmacist can be helpful when wondering about OTC and RX meds too, but nothing beats having your doctor to determine that for you. I did not know this and was taking my meds like the bottle stated, but!!! Once I asked my doctor, he better advised me on the 2 pills I’d been taking together in the AM. He said I need an hour later on one and 3 hours later on the other medication. Surprised me!!

I would go along with what djbgatekeeper has said. I do hope you have kept your insurance company up to date with your AF history , particularly as you are going across the pond where medical costs are phenomenal as you probably know . So are insurance premiums as I have found out!

hi andy, don't forget to take account of the time difference regarding your medication. I decided to make hourly changes each day for 5 days prior to leaving so that when I arrived in the States I was back to my normal time. Allow yourself plenty of time at the airports as the formalities always seem to take longer and longer and it's also a good idea to find out where the best medical centres are that can deal with AF...(not that you will need them!)

djb's advice is good as dehydration and booze can be real problems especially whilst flying. Have a great time and as Yatsura says, make sure your travel insurance is up to speed.....you could lose a fortune if it isn't......

Can be a bit hot in Orlando but the Americans are good on the old airconditioning - no marathons after 10.00 am?
