I've been on 7.5 mg of Bisoprolol for about 2 months now, but was still having almost daily AF episodes, so I decided to follow my EP's advice and try Flecainide. I started 5 days ago with 50mg twice a day, and I am supposed to reduce the Bisoprolol from 7.5 to 2.5 mg daily. The problem is, I have had rebound effects in the past when trying to reduce Bisoprolol, so I want to make sure I don't reduce it too fast. I started by reducing it to 6.25 mg since taking Flecainide, but I already see a rise in my blood pressure (from usually around 120/80 to 130-140/80-90), and I am still getting the occasional AF episode where my rate goes above 100... I will try to reduce to 5mg after a week, so in 2 days, but I am kinda worried that my blood pressure will continue to rise, as well as my rate.... Has anyone else taken Flecainide with 5mg of Bisoprolol for longer periods of time? Or am I risking serious side effects?

Flecainide with higher dose of Bisoprolol?
We are not medically qualified (other than a very few) on this forum, so we should not advise you on this. You really need to ask this question of your doctor. Do you have a channel of communication such as telephone or email that you could use? I know it can be very difficult to get an appointment to see them.
Just my personal view, but 140/90 is not what I would think is dangerously high, very many people used to be rated 'normal' with that before they moved the goalposts. You are doing the right thing to be cautious, and keeping a check on it though.
Well, all I can say is I was prescrined 5mg bisoprolol and 100mg twice a day of flecanaide, niw reduced to 50mg flecanaide twice daly and 5 mg bisoprolol. But each person many have different needs?

Another question: does it take a while for Flecainide to do its thing? I am supposed to start with 50 mg twice a day and increase to 100 mg twice a day if I tolerate it well... ideally I would prefer to stay at 50 mg BID for now, so I have room to increase in the future! I’ve been taking it for a week now, and I have in fact been getting fewer and shorter episodes, but I can’t say the AF is being completely suppressed....
I've been on 10mg of bisoprolol and 50mg twice a day of flecanide for months and months.
Even when flecanide has been increased to 100mg.
