Balloon Study?

A year or so ago I remembered hearing of an experimental study of inserting a balloon or some type of device in the heart chamber where clots tend to gather when one is in AFIB.

Has anyone out there heard any results on this ??

This would be the tea strainer known as Watchman. Not available on NHS here in UK but some members have been so fitted.

TKS, Bob

I'm here in the US I have an appointment with my Cardio Dr. in 6 weeks. I'm going to ask him more about what he thinks or knows about the Watchman. Again thanks!

irina,

So glad to hear all is going well, I have read some about this device and was just curious. Again thanks for your reply!

Thank you. I'd rather try almost anything (reasonable) than be on all the drugs we seniors sometimes end up taking. I think the number of drugs breed at night when we don't notice and one day we wake up startled by how many meds we are on. And how they are interacting with each other!

I know what you're saying, I'm almost afraid to go the Dr`s just in fear of what other pills they think I should be taking.
