Yes, I often get this Vonnie, it can happen if I get out of bed in the night too. After having AF for so many years I just try to ignore it now, but would rather it didn't happen.

I haven't noticed any flushing but I sometimes get tachycardia which starts when I lie down after getting up during the night. Weird - I thought it was only me!

Slow, deep breathing and/or stretching my arms up on top of my head jumps me back into NSR. In my case it's night-time gymnastics for the elderly - :)

Hi thanks for replying. I read you comment on ginger. I drink ginger teabags When feeling anxious or nausea. They are decaffeinated to

The gymnastics sound fun, pity I am 8oyrs old and very arthritic around my shoulders and collar bones. never the less will give them a go. I do feel the flushing and as I have mentioned before, wake up really sweaty. I try to sleep with my arms out but my darling husband of 56yrs lovingly covers me up incase I am cold. Bless him, I would be lost without him, lol.

Great fun lol but joking aside, I do not like heat. people long for hot summer days but I just can't stand them. They kill me, am I very peculiar??

Hi. Definitely get the flushing sometimes on lying down - especially during the night! Deep breathing and knowing it will pass helps me. Throw the bed covers off and as soon as feel freezing again - cover up! Know it's not "my age" as well past that, so relieved that others get it too.

I stopped taking HRT 9 years ago and hot flushes kicked in straightaway. They receded over the years but since being on medication for Afib they returned with a vengence. At least I think they're menopausal hot flushes. GP certainly dismissed them as such.

Yes I too get these flushes during the night and other random times during the day, despite having been in NSR for over 14 months now.

(Never had menopausal hot flushes, and now it feels like payback!)

Like others who have replied, I have just got used to it, and consider it yet another nuisance side effect of — age, medication, ? Who knows?!

Keep well, Val (silver40)

Thanks for replying What is NSR I'm so ignorant at moment on all abbreviations

Sorry. That is normal sinus rhythm. So my heart hasn’t been been doing the atrial fibrillation ‘jig’ for over 14months! It has been nice and steady. So that’s why I sometimes wonder if the flushes are due to medication or age?!
