I had an ablation for flutter and fibrillation today. Still a little groggy from the anesthesia. A little hoarse from intubation. No other significant side effects at this point. Prepped at 6:15. In the lab at 7:15. Anesthesia at 7:45, in recovery at around noon, in a room at 1:45 or so.

Today I’m beat. And a little sore. I’m confident my EP did the best he could. We will see what the next few months bring.
Third day post ablation. Minor hiccup yesterday. Went into afib or flutter for 15 minutes. Max heart rate was 139. I’m sore no more. Multicolor bruising at insertion site. Nothing my EP didn’t warn me about.. Feeling pretty good. Still a little tired. Positive.
Hi I live in southern Minnesota and have EP and ablations done at the Heart Institute in Minneapolis- curious as to where you live in Wisconsin and where you seek treatment?
I live in far northern Wisconsin. My EP is on staff at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield.
16 days post ablation. One 15 minute episode two days after. One last night that was 6-8 hours long with a average rate in the 110-120 range. Fell asleep and woke up in rhythm with a 57bpm rate. Yesterday was a long day. Cardiac exercise at 7:00, an all day meeting , and then an assist to a woman in a broken down Mercedes and a dead mobile phone. I live in an isolated area in northern Wisconsin, so I didn’t feel right leaving the woman alone while she waited for a tow truck, so I offered to wait with her. She struck me as a bit eccentric, which was bolstered when she opened the car door and at least half a dozen miniature greyhound dogs erupted and scattered like a flock of ducks. When I explained that I had recently seen a mama bear and a couple of Cubs about, she hustled her brood back in the car. She then asked if I had a beer she could buy. I didn’t. She then told me there was no real need for me to stay because she had a secret. At which point she pulled a small black pouch from her dress and showed me the pistol inside it. I agreed that she had no worries, although knowing that shooting a bear with that small a handgun would merely irritate it. But I digress.
My EP told me that I would likely experience episodes of afib for a few months after my ablation. The length of my day and the events of the could have triggered this episode.
I am still positive about the experience
