Usually yes, certainly until the ablation is considered successful. Some people continue anyway, partly because previous AF increases the risk of stroke and AF may return at any time, though hopefully not.

I have had previous TIA, so I suppose I will have to state on it. Thanks.

My ablation was a success but they said I will be on anti coags for life ,I have excepted that ,

Depends on your risk , and how you feel about the risk.

I'm score 1 on a chads2vasc and at the moment I have decided to not take an anticoagulant.

Your risk does not drop because you are in NSR.

However, for at least 3 months after an ablation you will need to be on an anticoagulant

I might be wrong, but I don't think your "need to be anti-coagulated" status changes after ablation. If your chads score says you should be, then the ablation doesn't change it. If your chads score was zero, like mine, then the ablation doesn't change that either.

I was told to come off Apixiban 2 months after my ablation. Told, not advised. I don't know if I could have stayed on them if I'd have pushed back against this.

If you had a tia then look on anticoagulants as your friend and life saver. I do.
