Since I have been on Atorvastatin my stomach seems to have increased in size even though I havent put any weight on. Is it true that statins can cause bloating?

STATINS and bloating
Did you look at the cholesterol and blood pressure video I posted a couple of days ago? You should seriously look at whether you should take this drug. Go on a drug site and read the side effects. My friend was on it until his heart surgeon told him that he had a heart attack and started taking this drug 10 years ago. After 10 years, he had blockage in 5 heart arteries and another more serious heart attack. My friend stopped taking the drug and has been fine over the last year. He lost all the weight he gained when he could not lose it when on the drug. He feels much better.
Ok thanks for that. I suffer with AF and thats why doc put me on it even though my chol only 4.4
Before you do, look at the video in which there is a list of reasons why you need cholesterol. Ask your cardiologist which of these is not important enough to give up in exchange for the incorrect belief that reducing cholesterol helps prevent heart attacks caused by clogged arteries. I suggest that you educate yourself and don't just blindly trust your doctor. If the answers given, seem a bit wishy washy, then you know your doctor is not totally educated about the pros and cons of reducing cholesterol. You can challenge your doctor in a polite way. This should be acceptable or you need a different doctor.
80 mg of Atorvastatin definitely gave me bloating and painful stomach, usually after eating evening meal. Have been able to reduce dose to 40 mg for past two months, much better and no real issue now.
