Why are you taking aspirin. It is no longer recommended for stroke prevention in AF so unless you have other heart issues which require it (stent or artificial valve for example) there is no need of it.

Unless you are over 80 or have kidney problems standard dose for pradaxa is as advised.

I have some coronary heart disease so I was put of 2 baby aspirins. What is the standard dose for pradaxa? I was taking 150 once a day. Now I am told to take 150 TWICE a day. I am also taking fish oil supplements which I think may add to the risk of bleeding but again, is supposed to be useful for my CAD.

The standard dose of dabigatran (Pradaxa) is 150mg twice daily. To be taken with a full glass of water. The drug must be kept in it's original container, and not dispensed into a dosset box with your other medication.

Best wishes

both my cardiologist and electrophysiologist said the fish oil should not cause a problem and the benefits outway the risks. Cardiologist reluctantly agreed with my concern about the bleeding and said it was ok to stop taking the aspirin.

Rachel why must it be apart from other meds please?

My EP advised 2 baby aspirin daily space ablation. Not on Rx blood thinner though. I stopped the Sotalol 20 mg bid a few days ago....prefer risk to diverticulitis again.

I was taking 1000 mg of fish oil and one baby aspirin for reasons other than Afib. The doc put me on Eliquis and told me to stop taking fish oil and aspirin. Since I have no bleeding problems with Eliquis, I started taking 500 mg of fish oil again and have had no problems. I might try taking the full 1000 mg of fish oil in the future because of added health benefits. Eliquis is of course an anticoagulant and fish oil and aspirin are both anti-platelets.

Thank you . I have been taking 2.5 grams of fish oil for some time. Just restarted on the pradexa. So far, no problems. I was on 2 baby aspirins but stopped taking them.

Wow. I would be hesitant to take anything other than what’s prescribed. How do you feel taking the aspirin and fish oil? I have finally come to terms with the medicine. I take Pradaxa twice a day- 12 hours apart. 150 mg each. I take with yogurt or protein as someone on here suggested. I understand the medicine can cause bleeding, sometimes severe or even fatal -so all of my expensive vitamins and fish oils are on hold right now. I don’t want anything to accidentally cause a capillary bleed. This A-Fib SUCKS SO BAD to put us in this situation.

I take pradaxa 150 twice a day and 2400 mg fish oil. I stopped taking aspirin even though I have some CAD.
