Sugar test 🍫🍪 didn’t go well .

So after all your lovely comments about my last post I thought I would test myself last night and see what happened. I ate 3 pieces of chocolate 🍫 and 2 biscuits 🍪, I woke at 3 this morning craving more sugar and came down to another biscuits . I woke this morning with anxiety and a very low mood and ectopic beats , I also had a mini run of a fast pulse that felt a bit like SVT , I looked in my diary and the last run I had was the week I stoped the sweet stuff. So that has definitely proved to me I need to swerve the sugar now . I probably gave my body to much at once and I am paying for it today. This is actually worse than a hangover 😮 my head is banging and don’t feel to good . I would also like to add that sugar is in a lot of things , it’s impossible to kick it out of everything, I still eat an orange 🍊 every morning with my breakfast. So I mainly cut out sweet stuff as in chocolate and sweets . Also sugar is a inflammatory and effects all are organs not just the heart ❣. I am so pleased to have had such amazing feedback from my last post and so happy 😀 some of you are going for kicking the sweet stuff 👊🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️🙌🏼 be patient with it tho as you will probably feel like crap the first week but it will pass I promise 💖 but believe me when you test it after a while like I did last night you will see it’s not worth the heart ache literally !!

Keep me updated on how you get on 👍🏼❤️

Exactly my reaction to it, Sam. I don’t buy any ‘junk’ at all - even if visitors are coming and we live so far from shops that the temptation is a long way away!!

Hope you feel better - drink plenty of water and feel good that you were right.

Thank you , I honestly cannot believe how bad I feel today 😮 and that run of a fast pulse frightened me . It definitely felt like SVT . I am wondering if it is normal to have these little runs after an ablation procedure? I never used to get the SVT symptoms only every couple of years . Since my ablation they were every couple of days and then weeks 😩 I am also wondering if I might need a calcium channel blocker as they seem to be given for SVT . I have never been given anything other than my beater blocker . I am in my 8 months post ablation procedure this month .

Interesting stuff Sam. Hope it all settles down again soon.

You're right, you can't avoid sugar, but keep to the natural stuff and away from the refined rubbish

A few years ago I attended a lecture by the Head nutritionist for British swimming, interestingly, one of the talks was on a number of experiments with elite athletes where they had been given certain foods to see how their bodies reacted and its affect on their training.

One particular elite swimmer had their intake of sugar increased, within 24 hours she was suffering from severe nausea, sickness, bad headaches, anxiety, unable to sleep, restlessness and palpitations she became a complete wreck and struggled to continue with the experiment for the full 2 weeks.

Following the end of the experiment it took her a good month to recover and get back to her normal training.

You are surrounded by sugar next time you visit the supermarket have a look at the nutrient labels you will be hard pressed to find anything which hasn't got added sugar so before you even indulge in a treat you know has a lot of sugar you will probably have maxed out on sugar with foods you didn't realise had sugar.

Keep a diary of exactly what you eat and drink (Be honest) over a week then check back over it for fat, sugar, salt etc and see how much of each nutrient you have consumed.

The link below although not entirely about sugar but it gives you some indication of how food and drink with large amounts of added sugar can effect your system, some parts of the article you could debate but it gives you a general idea of some of the rubbish we put in our systems......

I have included below another article below although its again about coke cola but it gives details on how sugar can crash your system......

When you coach athletes most of them very fit you certainly see how food can cause havoc with your system.

I am not a dr. I only make these comments from my own experience and conclusions. My Vagus nerve is affected when of vary if things goes awry in my digestive system....affects my heart causing an AF episode. Triggers for me can be caffeine, gas, over eating, or a surprise from eating something at the wrong time. Keeping my system clean and working at it best, by using good sense, and taking probiotics, Prebiotics, whatever is required to be regular and working as healthy as possible.. (which can be a full time job.) Good eating habits in general works for me. For me: small meals, no chocolate, no caffeine, no milk, no soft drinks. The good stuff includes: Berries, juicing (mostly carrots), grapes, salads with lots of fruits and nuts. I think you get it? Good restful sleep in necessary for everyone, especially for anyone who is not a Spring Chicken. My experience only.... and always be mindful if you are diabetic.
