I've been on sotolol for a few years now with no problems (besides it not completely con trolling my Afib.) I was recently put on metoprolol as well. I'm experiencing chest tightness and shortness of breath. Do these side effects eventually go away? Will the body acclimate?
Thank you

Your question relates to a problem with Metoprolol, yet your side effects for me were reminiscent of Sotalol not Metoprolol, There are many types of Afib and I seem to have had 3 different types, so it is harder to diagnose than just one type. You need your doctor to identify what type of Arrhythmia you have, if possible. like the other replies I have never heard of two different types of Medication together.
I mention that I had no problems with Metoprolol even at the beginning (except that it didn't hold it at bay eventually) it was given to me again before and after my ablation after changing my lifystyle dramatically. Currently I have no need for any medication. Shortness of breath to me is a red flag, but it may be the condition and not the medication.
