Vagus nerve: Have had AF.for 3 years... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Vagus nerve
Good question - there are quite a few! Anything describing Functional Medicine - can’t remember the name of the guy who is THE authority - CHRIS someone but also Dr John McKendrick’ blog & Dr Myhill website has good books. someone posted a link recently on a paper written in 2003 about Autonomic involvement in AF. It’s a BIG, underresearched & misunderstood connection. If I have time I’ll find the links & post in the meantime put vagal AF in search top right & watch Sanjay Gupta’s video on AF & stomach.
I have a book on my kindle. Heal your vagus nerve, heal yourself by Lucy Boyd. If you search on Amazon there are a few. I too have stomach issues which I am seeing a nutritionist about. With her advice my stomach problems have lessened and I have no AF since June.
Not sure what’s caused the vast improvement but I’ve been doing an exercise suggested in the books. It’s singing or humming to improve your vagus tone. Only problem is, it’s become a habit and my husband it getting irritated by it, but he says if it will help the AF he will put up with it.
