Back in A FIB

I went for a routine EKG yesterday and I'm back in A FIB. First time since my ablation in June!!! Doctor put me on metroprotol XL 25 mg for a week to see if it will go back in rhythm. Has anyone had success with this medicine?

Try searching here (box at top right of screen) for metopropol (beware spelling). It has been mentioned from time to time.

Metoprolol 50 mg extended release once per day and Flecainide 100 mg twice a day have kept me in NSR for the past two months. Both have side effects so good your MD starting at low dose to find minimum drug needed.

If it took an ekg to determine your afib, you must not have many symptoms. Metoprolol will slow your heart rate depending on the dosage. What is your heart rate? 25 mg is a low dosage. When your rate is slower, it has a better chance of self-converting.

My heart rate was 126 when they did the EKG.
