Have Essential Tremor right hand. Now the left hand is showing signs! How does one survive with both hands bouncing about? Have enjoyed AF for 9 years. Now I am told I have "mildly impaired left ventricular function with dyskinesis in the inferior septal region". Wow...what ever that means! Perhaps a kind knowledgeable person could explain for me. Have just had an appointment to see consultant postponed until November. Thank you.

Essential Tremor
I am not a medical professional but 'mildly impaired ventricular function' means that the lower part of your heart - the ventricle isn't working 100% efficiently. Dyskinensis - is a complicatied way of saying there is an unusual movement. Inferior septal region refers to the exact part of the heart which isnt moving exactly as it should.
Perhaps you should ask your Doctor (GP) to confirm this and ask them to explain to you what it means in terms of health and well-being.
I would have thought that if this meant something really nasty they would have had you in very quickly - rather than wait until November.
It is hard to sit with something which you don't know the meaning of and having to wait - and stressing about it really doesn't help so do go and talk to your GP.
Thank you CDreamer and souljacs4, I have an appointment with GP in a couple of weeks, perhaps he will give me further details, and tell me it is nothing nasty...I hope.

My mother has a severe tremor in the hand she uses to hold essential cutlery. The occupational therapist gave her weighted cutlery which can be bent (once) to the best angle for eating, and she has found this very helpful.
I must try and get hold of the weighted cutlery, sounds good. Thank you.
I two have essential tremor and it shows in my feet as well as my hands although I don't really notice it in my feet my chiropodist told me it was there. I have found that gradually I have learned to work with it, but when I am cooking or doing things the floor seems to collect its share! Very annoying. Mine came at about the time my Afib was proving a problem and I asked the forum if there was a link. Both seem to be connected to the Vagus Nerve but other than that I could find no medical link! Any other ideas out there now?
Sounds interesting. Do keep me in touch. I find one of the most embasadding things is when my knife and fork decide to do their own music and dance on my plate when eating in public! Ah Well
