What I know and believe,PAF no other problems 63 years of age need rate Control, after 65 need blood thinner, ablation if can't handle symptoms, not a cure ,once AF happens in almost all cases always a threat and clots can still happen even when not in AF because of what happens in heart due to having AF in the first place, don't know medical jargon

Sounds just about right. Keep asking questions if you need to.

Best wishes

Not sure about this bit 'once AF happens in almost all cases always a threat and clots can still happen even when not in AF because of what happens in heart due to having AF in the first place,' Basically, from what I have read it is not that simple - depends on any other co-morbidities and other preventative action you take. Also I have not seen convincing statistics on the risk for Lone PAF with long term remission due to drugs (in my case Flecainide).

As you can guess, I am not a just take the pill person and my Cardio says even when I reach 65 next year he won't automatically put me on 'blood thinners'.

I agree with Secontry, I am 69, Lone Afib, my doctor has not put me on blood thinners.
