Hi All

Probably not a lot different to if you were not on Apixaban and why would you have one unless this is a regular thing for you? Anticoagulants do not make you bleed more easily they just mean that clotting takes a little longer if you have an injury.
Hi Sparks and welcome to our AF forum.
I agree with Bob as I've had nosebleeds all my life and they are no worse since taking anticoagulants. When I get them I always think, well I'd rather a blood vessel burst in my nose than anywhere else in my body. I view it as my safety valve.
Are you newly diagnosed?
Glad you've found this site and let us know if you need any support with your AF.
Best wishes
Jean
I'm on Apixaban after 5 years of warfarin. I had a nose bleed on wednesday, no problems at all, it stopped just as quickly as it started!
Hi Sparks and welcome to the forum. Apixaban - or any of the anticoagulants - will make blood clotting a slower process, so any bleeding will take slightly longer to stop. I take Apixaban and found that for a nosebleed, gripping for 15 to 20 minutes usually does the trick.
If, like me, you have a condition which causes nosebleeds, get advice from your GP, otherwise don't worry too much - Apixaban is unlikely to cause nosebleeds by itself.
