Us really old ones of course missed out because of sweet rationing in our childhood.

I remember the day rationing finished and left early for school to go to the 'Tuck Shop' first. Such was the demand that rationing was soon reintroduced,

Ha - I remember sugar rationing but when it was lifted, chocolate was the treat to go for. I still got AF! ☹️

The article said it doesn't work as well for girls.

There was a sweet makers shop we used to go to in Edinburgh. I can't remember the ratio but if you gave them sugar they gave you sweets without coupons.

Someone we knew had a tobacconist shop and he had a woman with big family who brought in the family butter ration to swap for Woodbines.
