Hi everyone I have my first appointment with an EP today - long over due I now realise - and so glad I found this forum as I am now armed with knowledge of my condition and a list of questions to ask. Very nervous about what he is going to suggest as treatment but hey, wish me luck!! And thanks for all the advice I found here Liz

Seeing an EP for the first time can be a step on the ladder of improvement. Life has changed for the better for so many of us as a result. I hope you'll feel encouraged and uplifted, Liz, by the end of the day.

Wish you all the luck in the world......best thing you could do!!

Go well and go prepared! Listen carefully, take someone with you if you can because it is easy to mis-hear, mis-interpret or just not hear was is said. But good luck for outcome.

Thank you all. I met my EP Dr Yue who has taken me under his wing and I will now get regular follow-ups. He went through all of my questions very patiently and based on my episodes of AF so far which are not that frequent and the fact it doesn't have a mega impact on my life at the moment, his advice is I don't need an ablation or other procedure right now. He has also stopped the flecainide which I now will only take if needed- pill in pocket. I feel very reassured to be under his care at the hospital and if in future I need to consider ablation then I am already 'in the system '. I feel like I have some control back and now up to me to make some lifestyle changes and just get on with my life. I shall keep following the forum and post when I can. Thank you all again for the advice. Liz xx
