That could be double-edged sword - I would want it to be successful purely because it would indicate you can be cardioverted - then I would want to see the consultant to discuss treatment options.
Was there a reason given why you couldn't be referred to the consultant you wanted to see?

That is quite bizarre, arbitrary and down right wrong but then so are lots of things in this game. When you say fail I presume that you mean it doesn't last ,long as total failure will mean a life sentence of AF I fear along with countless drugs most of which will not help. Once you are in permanent AF there is little to be done apart from manage the symptoms.

Last time SR lasted around 6 inches of the EcG. Beem on Amidarone since and it reduced it to flutter so hoping it will take this time as my heart is a lot stronger than it was. Just wish I could see the consultant that I want to....
