I have noticed that some of you on this site are seeing both a IR doctor and a Cardiologist. It it a good idea to have two doctors for Afbid?

IR and Cardiologist

Yes, EP is correct
I had EP from beginning of my journey and still have him. I've had cardiac surgeon to do my cox maze and removal of benign tumour from my heart and a cardiologist did my pacemaker another one did my TOE been round the department at Blackpool Victoria .
sometimes you need to have an opinion from both. particularly if ablation is being considered. Some cardiologists are good at getting an EP opinion when needed and others tend not to when really it's needed so it depends on what your cardiologist is like I think
You ultimately require an EP, if you have AFib. Initially you may see a cardio, but you will quickly understand why you require a GOOD EP. Can I suggest you trawl through this site, and from that learning experience you will be able to understand the EP part of it
Think Cardiology - plumbing & structure - think EP - electrical connections. AF is electrical.
I have seen numerous doctors in my on going af saga. My cardiologist is an expert in af and a different doctor handled my pacemaker/defib procedure (it was taken out due to infection) but overall I mainly see my af one and if needs be he just speaks to one of the other doctors/specialists.
Thank you all for your advice, it really helped me understand the difference in doctors for Afib
