Just a quick update on my incarceration. I'm still on heavy duty antibiotics, Amoxicillin and Clucloxicillin every three hours round the clock, although my Picc line had to be taken out a couple of days ago due to a clot at the heart end.

This info was delivered very casually and didn't seem to be giving anyone else any concern, so I'm sure it was perfectly safe. 😮

Since then I've had four cannulas since the frequency and strength of my Domestos medication seems to be sore on them.

Although it's common practice for patients to buy gifts for staff, there has been role reversal here since one of the kitchen staff presented me with a beautiful brooch yesterday. Long service award!

No sign of discharge date and this is my ninth week. Have to say that my optimistic attitude is flagging a little, but I'm sure I'll be allowed out on licence soon!

Still enjoying all your posts. Barbara.

I'm aghast to hear that you still haven't got home! What a terrible tale you now have to tell and no end in sight.

But you battle on and I hope your Westie has had more visits to lift your spirits.

I seem to have missed your previous post which made me laugh when I read it just now. I'm sure laughter is the best medicine so keep on seeing the funny side of it all.

Very best wishes - I do hope that you will be home very soon and can wear your brooch on clothes.

Doing well there Barbara. You know my views on time spent there. Possibly half way through things now with luck judging by my knowledge of endocarditis . Don't give up it will sort itself eventually.

Keep smiling.

Hi Barbara. This has been such a tough time for you but you will come out the other side and be able look back on it as a memory one day very soon. Your attitude and humour is amazing and inspiring. Are you in RVH? Sending you positive vibes and prayers and thoughts. I was in hospital in UHD with a girl who had endocarditis. She had a rough time too but got better. Your AF family are always here for you xx

Thanks Vony , I'm in Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, where the staff are lovely and the treatment good, but it's not home! xx

Those canulas are buggers. Always the worst part for me. Awful long time to be in hospital. Thinking of you
