High heart rate whilst ill

Hi all,

So I'm currently suffering with a slight cold I think or an infection, which is obviously causing me a lot of distress in itself.

Just taken my pulse and it's 101 so a little on the high side. Is heart rate elevated when ill? Does anyone else get this at all?

Also I've taken two co-codamol (8mg codeine/500mg paracetamol each), so would I not be able to take any propranolol now? Or rather, has anyone taken these combinations before and averted negative effects?

Thanks,

Micwal.

  • Yep heart rate does increase with illness - your body is trying hard to fight off those bugs. Rest and make sure you are hydrated. Take care.

  • Hi, sorry to hear you are not feeling well. My heart rate goes up when I am ill, ie, cold, tummy upset etc. Your local pharmacist can give good advice regarding medication. Hope you soon feel better. Best wishes Kath
