Atrial Septal Aneurysm

Had an afib ablation early last month and still in NSR thank goodness! It was deleted on my pre ablation MRI that I have an atrial septal aneurysm. My EP said that's probably the cause of my afib. Please let me know if any of you all have or are familiar with this? I've read it can increase stroke risk and I'm super worried.

I have read 'they' do not always want to operate on an atrial septal aneurysm.....so cannot advise on that. But when I presented with an atrial foremen ovale...hole in the heart ....following a very small TIA I was told it would be a good idea to have it closed...which I did....I am in the UK. The reason for closing it was that I may go on to have another stroke even though I am not a classic stroke victim......thin, no blood pressure but getting on a bit 73 when it was done. I guess my situation/condition ,was milder than yours so I would indeed dig a bit further and ask more questions re. the prognosis from your EP.Not sure if this helps but I guess the more info. you get the better might be the outcome.
