It's now 6weeks since my ablation bp good heart rate good steady had a few pvcs but mostly fine but have started to feel very light headed and dizzy even when sitting wondered if anyone else had this

Yes I too had lots of dizziness just after my ablation but they only lasted seconds, mostly when standing. Hope yours pass with time, like mine.

I am now 7 months post ablation and can't believe my progress.

I had my ablation in July and dizziness is an issue for me. Could well be a drugs issue. I'm trying different ones at the moment to try and rectify. Coming off bisophonol has helped but not completely solved.

Are you drinking plenty of water ( and not just water in tea or coffee).

Drink as much as I can but have chf as well so have to be careful can pony have 1.25lt of fluid a day

Have you checked your heart rate and BP? Are they normal? As Peter says, make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

Do you know what your blood pressure is Mazza? When I was forced onto BP meds I felt quite light headed and occasional dizzy spells for some time , up to a couple of months until my body got used to what doctors consider "normal". At anything less than 120/70 I still do!

Bp good for me 116/62. Hr between 50/68

So your body has been used to BP on the low side of normal.

When I first got sick it was very high my hr was over200pbm my left atria was enlarged but it has improved

Oh and I had 9lt of fluid removed

Now you have had a succesgul ablation your meds need a review. My cardio took me off ramipril as bp bit low. Just on bisoprolol now. Perhaps you can speak to your consultants secretary or arythmia nurse whilst awaiting your appointment.

I have come through a particularly bad spell. Currently back at GP. So, 12 months on 15mg Biso, 312.5mcg Digoxin. BP steady at 121/70, HR at 75. Three weeks ago, very unwell, dizzy, large palpitations, nausea. BP all over the place. 1 minute, 135/88, next, 105/62, HR though through the roof, at 98. I also felt very dizzy. It is the BP. In my case, I have not a clue as to what caused it. On these meds, at these dozes, it should maintain steady rate, but nope.....I was a bit concerned, so I am back at GP. Bloods taken Friday, GP this Tuesday..hang in there..

This is happening to me..has been for the last 7/8 weeks....as I'm new to this I get really scared. GP's don't seem to have answers...I just lie down all day and pray to have a life again. Hope you feel better soon and they sort out out..if they do, would you let me know what's going on please?

Unfortunately AF is too a specialist a subject for most GPs. In addition as the role of EPs and the first catheter ablations is less than 20 years old the understanding and knowledge is very new in medical terms and is evolving quite quickly. Some GPs have never heard of an EP. I was told that many GPs and consultants in other areas would have only spent one or two hours on AF in their studies. Obviously some updates due to ongoing professional Development but not the same. Also because practices and developments have changed they may still be on an older or earlier page!!!

Just woke up in fast AF grrr taken 10 mg of bisoprolol let's see what happens hr between 84 /120 bpm grrr

Back in NSR after 3hrs hr still 70 high for me and feel like rubish oh the joys of AF

Know how you feel but try not to let it scare you I am sure my cardio was ready to have me commited when I was first diagnosed I nealy drove him nuts but when you survive the first few attacks you do start to relax a bit I am back in NSR good old bisoprolol I think good luck xx

Keep track of your blood pressure and pulse. Also note if you're thirsty or dehydrated (note the color of your urine). If any of these is unusual, bring it back to normal. If it's all normal, then consider the possible effects of drugs.

Note, too, the time of day your dizziness comes on. Is it in the morning, soon after you wake up? Other times of day? etc., including any other effects you might notice, such as tiredness, any muscle or joint soreness, tingling in the fingers or toes, dry mouth, any visual effects, etc. The more you know about your circumstances, the better.

Hi Mazza, 4half weeks post ablation, had a couple of dizzy spells usually in the morning, but I am not too worried, because I had these dizzy spells on and off before my ablation, definitely was lacking water as visits to the loo were numerous, and as soon as I drank lots of water, it got better. Maybe you can check the number of times you visit the loo and factor in this amount with your normal intake of water.

Let your GP know how often this occurs, and stay rested.

I am doing really well, no palpitations and my life seems to be back to normal pretty much. Very busy at the moment, but I take time out every day for around an hour in the sun, with a good book.
