What time of day do you normally take it and have you adjusted today for GMT?

I usually take in the afternoon but that's because when starting to take a week ago someone said better to take later in the day but flying at eleven in the morning tomorrow and thinking sound be better to take before I fly ?

I take mine at 6pm and did the same when travelling to the USA and Mexico. It gets a bit confused with the time difference but I tried to stick to 6pm and it was fine. Have a great trip.

Did the same when we went to Italy a few weeks ago.

On a similar theme, I'm off to Australia soon. I take apixaban. Does anybody know if there is any problem with taking a dose a few hours early. Is there any danger in overlapping?

My GP said to take it a few hours late rather that early if that helps. I did that when going to the states and it worked fine. Have a good trip.

Don't follow that logic especially as certainly apixaban can be double dosed. Also told the opposite.

Even with warfarin which is much slower acting and is a reservoir effect I was told better to take 2 hours early rather than 2 hours late.

I was advised to take my medication at the same time I would have had I been in England

I recently flew to Boston. In the UK my pill regime is as follows: 06:00 Flecainide 08:00 Diltiazem and Apixaban. 18:00 Flec and 20:00 Apixaban. A few days prior to leaving, I shifted the times by about 2 hours so that by the time I was in Boston, I was virtually in my normal time range and as far as I can recall, it did not interfere with normal sleep patterns. Coming back was easier coz we were on a boat so there was never more than 1 hour change in a day. I tended to be more cautious about the apixaban timings. Back now 2 weeks and no after effects.

Hope this helps....ps, I used the iPad clock so I could keep a handle on the times in Boston prior to leaving
