You don't say what options you have been given - how long have you had AF?

If you tell your story I think people will be able to advise you

Don't be afraid. Read up on it in the booklets on the main AFA website.

They have to tell you about the possible risks but some of those are theoretical from years ago in the very early days and have not been updated to reflect increased competencies and knowledge of EPs nor equipment advances.

Search through past posts and you will see many who wished they had it done years earlier.

Do ask specific questions on here.

Don't be afraid sure you will feel so much better I have just had my first I was terrified but they take very good care of you

Cardioversion failed for me, too, but the ablation worked like magic for 18 months, and a second doing very well now too. Sure beats meds to try to control (and giving their own problems) or living with AF!

Don't fear an ablation! I had one 3 weeks ago and am already feeling so much better. It's not that difficult to go through. Believe me, you don't want to put it off.
