Interesting that they are majoring on NOACs rather than warfarin.
From a friend who works as a pharmacist at a local hospital here in Ontario, NOAC'S have become the standard in new patients while those already on Warfarin are generally maintained on Warfarin - I live in a smaller city (75000) so I suspect this is probably a protocol from the larger centers since our local hospital typically follows guidelines from nearby London (Ontario) or Toronto hospitals
