Eliquis and Bleed .
I have had the same sort of procedure done a couple of times on Apixaban with no problems. Bleeding seemed pretty normal.
I had a small skin lesion removed by my Dr three weeks ago, results not back yet!! I got it removed at 11.30am and missed my morning Apixiban dose, had my usual night time dose at 7pm, no problems at all, hope this helps, but check with your Dr first, best wishes.
As everyone says check with the Doctor first, as medics seem to have a differing opinion. I had a tooth extraction and the Dentist said no days. My doctor said 1 day, the Cardiologist said 2 days and the hospital said 4 days, depends on the procedure I guess, so I chose 2 days and glad I did as the dentist needed to use stiches on my gums, big hole left on this one.
The hospital should know that your on this, I am too, generally your told to stop taking it before the operation, DONT under any circumstance do this without a medical doctor telling you to, they put you on it for a reason!! You must talk to your doctor, Im sure they will give you instructions nearer the time, but talk to him, he's the only one qualified to tell you. You should not have dental treatment at a normal surgery either, they sent me to the hospital so it could be controlled, I have A.fibrulation which is why I take it,to reduce the risk of clots in the heart and brain, better the pill than a huge risk of stroke and heart attack, Dont worry, they'll sort you out. Lyzzie.
On apixaban and I had a lesion removed for biopsy and the doc just cauterized the wound and while it was slightly oozy for a day or so, no real bleed.
