I am a 24 year old male, suffering from AF for a year and a half now.
I am attending a friends birthday get together at a shisha bar in Manchester and wondering whether trying shisha would be a good ideal or not considering I have arrhythmia.
I used to smoke and had problems with that because of the Nicotine, but as Shisha didn't contain any Nicotine, wI'll I be OK?
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
Nicholas

Hi Nicholas, Sorry that you are dealing with this at 24, but in some ways you are luckier than those of us who stumble into it in later decades because you have the opportunity to choose the healthiest possible lifestyle, which will have a positive impact on the AF. That said, and at the risk of sounding like a Debbie Downer, I would avoid partaking in the activity at the shisha bar. It is not health enhancing and an easy way to decide if something is good for AF or not, is that simple question....does it make me healthier, or might it sabotage my health? Just one opinion, but since you asked Be well, my friend.
Im not quite sure what shisha is apart from that it is passed round a group and must be a pleasurable experience. Most other things that are pleasurable have to be approached with caution by A.F. patients in my experience so you are being sensible to query it. Hopefully someone else may have a more definitive answer. X
I think you need to read BHF report on shisha as apparently the water does not remove all nicotine. It states than in an average one hour session you can consume the same amount of nicotine as 100 yes one hundred cigarettes. Sorry.
