I hope you all enjoy tonight however you are celebrating. Hears hoping that we all have a fulfilling 2016 embracing and overcoming any challenges along the way. Thank you all for being my best buddies and for all the support you have given me this year.

Hate to be an Eeyore to your cheery post, but I just woke up to celebration fireworks thumping along to the rhythm of my AF heartbeat overriding the bedtime flecainide. Welcome to 2016!
Me too! I was horse and dog sitting so that my daughter could enjoy the celebrations with her siblings, fell asleep listening to the radio and woke to loud fireworks at exactly midnight, with heart rate at 150 bpm! Was quite surreal! Luckily didn't last very long.
Especially when they wake you up! Persistent?! Get that thing fixed! I was in persistent AF before ablation. Then 15 months of NSR bliss. I think the holiday stress got me going again, but much milder and this time controlled by flecainide (unless abnormal adrenalin kicks in). Best wishes for a better 2016.
I was in persistent AF when diagnosed. Had an ablation last year (2015) but went back into persistent AF less than 72 hours later. Saw the consultant a few weeks later and I immediately signed up for ablation no 2 and I am just waiting for it now. I was told before the first one that in MY case there was no chance it would work first time.
It's so interesting how differently we all experience this little monster! Best wishes on the second try! BTW, just as an experiment today, I went without my morning flecainide, and went the entire day in NSR. Pretty sure holiday stress was to blame for the resurgence...though I'm sure also that doesn't mean I'm permanently out of the woods. We'll take what we can get,eh?
