My pulse dropped to 49and I suspected my pm was faulty. The cardiologist said he was not concerned and thought it was a virus bit arranged a pm check. At the pm clinic all my readings and battery life were good. She said it is very common to blame the pacemaker every time we feel off colour. I feel a lot better and reassured and looking forward to my holiday tomorrow. Anyone who read my post/question might like this report back. Thanks for the kind and helpful replies. Barry

They said it was a failing of a home BP monitor that it could not pick up very soft beats although I am convinced that I was in sinus rythm that first Sunday morning and could tell, by feeling my pulse, that it was slow. They also said the pacemaker would not allow me to drop below 70 and that it was working faultlessly . I'm still a little puzzled but assured all is well. The pacemaker reading revealed that my incidents of AF had dropped from 35% to 31% so something very positive there.
